Ashley Kriner, CFP®

Financial Advisor

Ashley is a magna cum laude graduate of Northeastern University, where she earned a BS in business administration with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship. Upon graduation, Ashley began her career in the financial services industry as an internal business consultant for John Hancock Investments. In 2016, she joined the MidState Wealth Management team and currently holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations as well as her life, disability, and long-term health care insurance license. In 2020, Ashley became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Ashley is passionate about helping guide people toward making knowledgeable decisions that will benefit their financial future. She works closely with her father, Mark Sparhawk, in conducting investment research and assists with plan implementation.

Ashley is an active member of the community and serves as the treasurer for the Memorial Foundation for the Blind. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, cooking, and taking her dogs on long walks.

Natalie Hack

Office Manager

Natalie is a cum laude graduate of the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University in Boston, where she earned a BS in business administration with a concentration in management and a minor in sociology.  She received a graduate certificate in HR management from Northeastern University.  Prior to joining our team, Natalie worked for another financial advisor as a performance report manager.  She has worked extensively in data management and was also a human resource business analyst. She also was an executive assistant at Fidelity Investments for more than 15 years.

Natalie is from a very large family and enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, her six siblings, and their many nieces and nephews. Natalie is an avid sports fan and a Massachusetts champion bowler.

Shannon Boyle

Financial Assistant

Shannon is a 2018 graduate of Assumption College, where she earned a BA in management with a minor in accounting. Shannon joined our team in April as a financial assistant, and she is eager to assist you with any service requests. Prior to working at MidState, she worked as an office manager for three years. 

Shannon is passionate about helping others and is an active member of the community. She is the gift intake manager for the Christmas for 508 event in Auburn, Massachusetts. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs.

In Fond Memory

Since Mark Sparhawk's passing, there has been a great outpouring of sympathy and support. Clients, colleagues, friends and family have said again and again, "Mark was a great guy!”

Mark Sparhawk died at 60 years of age on August 5, 2023 after a battle with cancer. He left behind a family that loved him, as well as a career of nearly 30 years in the financial service industry. If you had the prvilege to know him well, you know the three things he loved the most were his family, his business and golf.

Untill the very end, when Ashley would visit him after work he would ask her "who did you meet with toay?", despite how he was feeling on some of his worst and final days. He deeply cared for each and every one of his clients and helping them succeed was his passion. 

Mark founded MidState Wealth Management in 1995. He began his financial planning career in 1986, and in 1988 he started the first retail investment program at Mechanics Bank in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was a cum laude graduate of Nichols College, where he earned a BS in business administration with a concentration in finance. In 1994, he obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, which reflects his commitment to holistic financial planning and the CFP Board's Code of Ethics. In addition, he held the FINRA Series 7, 26, and 63 securities registrations as well as his life, disability, and long-term health care insurance license.

Mark was always dedicated to evaluating his clients' financial situation in a comprehensive manner, focusing on all aspects of their planning needs, including investments, insurance, retirement, and estate planning. He enjoied helping clients find the right balance in life and making a positive impact on their financial future. He also specialized in qualified planning for small businesses. His motto in life was always to "Live for Today, Plan for Tomorrow." 

Mark Sparhawk, CFP®  was proud to have been recognized as a Vista Club advisor for 2021—a distinction based on annual production that placed him among the top 27 percent of advisors affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network.
